Andy went back to school a few weeks ago.. :( It was a sad day! The Christmas break was soo nice, Andy, Carter and I got to spend so much time together and I was so bummed when it was time to return to reality.

The only nice thing about this semester is that Andy has morning classes.. So at night he comes home to study and be near us. Carter LLOOOOVEESS being by Andy when he gets home, even if all Andy is doing is studying :)

My older brother Steve recently got a job working at Sundance Ski Resort.. What better way to show him how excited we are for him than to go visit him right?

Here is the gang before heading up the mountain on New Years Day.. I was expecting that there wouldn't be very much snow.. but I was even more surprised at how little there was when we got up there..

The man in all back with the red hat is my older brothers boss, It just so happens that he also went to elementary school with my mom in Redding, California. I'm not quite sure how they connected everything, but it sure is a small, small world :)

So, I started out skiing when I was in the 5th grade.. Not to brag or anything, but I remember being pretty good at it. A few years later, I made the switch to snowboarding. I'm not great at it, but I can snowboard and get down the hill without killing myself. My Dad was the same story.. always skied and switched to snowboarding. Well since my brother has been working there my Dad has gone to Sundance a few times and has gone back to skiing.
Sooo... thinking I knew what I was doing, I decided to rent some ski's and try skiing again.. cause seriously? How hard could it be?
It was definitely harder than I thought it would be :)

These next few pictures were taken at the very top of Sundance. It is sooo pretty up there.. from where I was standing, you could see Deer Creek on one side and the other side was a view of Utah Lake and Provo. Behind me is a cute cozy little restaurant. It was pretty dang cold, but it was a really pretty view.. I want to go back up with Andy and Carter in the summer and eat there :) Sounds fun right?

This was our last run of the day.. By the end of the day I was feeling pretty confident in my skiing abilities, so I rode up to the top of the mountain to one of the hardest runs.. Ya, I didn't know it was one of the hardest. I lost all confidence in my abilities, but I made it down alive. Whew..

Notice the lack of snow on the mountain behind us... how is that for January. Crazy huh?

I really loved going to Sundance, it is a really cute little resort. I am excited to go again, but I'm definitely going to wait until there is more snow. Because of the lack of snow, the snow that was there was really icy, which really helped when I fell multiple times.. awesome right?

No fun snow day would be complete without Krispy Kremes, Hot Chocolate, and McDonald's.. thats how we finished out the night and it was pure bliss!

My Blog posts are a little out of order.. but I'm so behind on blogging, so... It is what it is! The week before Christmas Andy took a much needed vacation to Cody, Wyoming to visit with one of his best friends from high school.. So I had the whole weekend to party it up ;). Jk, but seriously.. my mom and younger sister were headed down to Vegas for a cheer competition, so Carter and I packed our bags and headed down to warmer weather.

I didn't take a whole lot of pictures while there, but we stayed at the Excaliber hotel and in the food court is a Krispy Kreme... Carter got an introduction to the doughnuts and only wanted to eat that the entire trip..

So, funny story.. one night I went and bought a box with 4 doughnuts in it.. I gave him one and put the rest of the box in the bottom of the stroller and covered the box of doughnuts with a blanket and walked to my room.. I got into my room and turned on the t.v and let Carter out of his stroller to play with some toys.. after a few minutes I noticed how quiet the room was...
For any of you moms out there.. You know that when a room gets too quiet, you KNOW they are up to something..

Well he was definitely up to something..

I found him hiding behind the bed in the corner.. HE FINISHED OFF THE BOX OF KRISPY KREMES!!!!!! Yes, that little 24 pound, 1 year old, polished off 4 krispy kremes like it was nothing.. He is definitely my child, haha.

sometimes I just have to shake my head and laugh..

Speaking of things I introduced him to this weekend.. We stopped off at starbucks for a drink one afternoon and I handed my drink back to Carter so he could have a some... That was a bad idea, because I didn't get it back. My little guy polished off my whole drink for me and cried when it was all gone lol

We had alot of fun in Vegas, the weather was AMAZING.. Since it was the week before Christmas... in true Richey Fashion, we were out shopping!! Carter is a really good sport.. but I think he had just about had it when we had spent a few hours in H&M..

Everyone thinks its really cute when someone his size lays down in the middle of a store, if I were to do that.. I would probably get asked to leave ha

While shopping at a mall, we found that you could rent these stroller/cars for kids.. So.. WHY NOT? He LOVED IT! Me? Not so much... I loved that he loved riding in it.. but the thing was SO big.. I could hardly get it through any aisles without knocking into something or someone. Plus it was like a serious workout to push that thing around. Oh well, at least Carter enjoyed it!

For a Christmas present to my Inlaws I took pictures of each of the kids and their families, so I stopped off at Andy's sisters house and took a few family pictures and let Carter play with the kids :) He loved it!

Fast forward to Christmas Eve..
I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS! Except this year was so different.. first off.. the obvious.. there was NO snow. That was really weird for me, it just didn't FEEL like Christmas. Andy and I both did a little bit of traveling before Christmas to separate places,( pictures to come later) So that made it feel weird too.. but when Christmas did come, it was a lot of fun to have a baby around, they make the holidays so much more fun..

I LOVE Carters Christmas Jammies!!!!!

Every year my Dad does "Light the way" If you haven't ever heard of it, it is symbolic of lighting the way for Christ to be in your home. A lot of people around Alpine and other towns partcipate in it. This year, even though there was no snow, it was still really cold, so my Dad and youngest sister Jenni, put the candles on our deck. Carter was determined to be outside "helping"

Carter was such a great "helper". Everytime my sister lit one of the candles.. Carter would run over, squat down closer to the bag.. and blow out the candle. I kept getting the giggles everytime he ran over and blew it out :)

He wasn't so happy when I made him come inside..

A New Craze..

So.. September flew by for me.. I was super busy and really excited about doing something new. A while back on facebook I came across a page called Freebies 2 Deals.. I started reading the posts and was seeing all these deals she was posting about. After a while of researching on her site..(watching videos, reading posts etc) I decided to start saving the coupons that were coming in the mail..

Ok.. so it took me a few weeks to save up a bunch of coupons, but I went shopping for the first time last week with my coupons and was on a shopping high when I scored those bottles of shaving cream for 19 cents a bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not kidding.. I have never been so excited about grocery shopping in my life.. and I was really excited

Ha! Even my husband got excited.. Last sunday when the paper came.. he went and got the paper and started cutting out the coupons and organizing them!! How funny is that!

I can feel summer fading fast.. It makes me sad. My baby boy and I spend so much time outside just soaking up the sun and playing on the grass and trampoline together... Although fall is my favorite season, and I'm really looking forward to the changing season.. I'm going to miss the warm weather..

I wish I were better at blogging more often, because then I wouldn't have to remember all the little details that can be so easily forgotton..

Anyways..

After we spent time in Las Vegas, We treked over to St. George, Utah for some quality family time.. Better known as our annual Family reunion!

We started our reunion by meeting up at Cafe Rio--a favorite of pretty much everyone I know..

Zions

A few weeks earlier, a few of my cousins did a hike in Zions and then reported to us that the hike was basically a walk and that it would be a perfect "walk" for all of us that had kids that were tagging along.

I wasn't sure about taking a hike that wouldn't allow me to take a stroller.. It was over 100 degrees that day and Andy wasn't going to be there to help me carry our over 20 pound child and backpack. My brothers and dad assured me that they would help with Carter, so I agreed to go..

The hike started out like this..

The hike progressivly got harder, and harder. I seriously do not know who was crying harder.. the babies or the moms. All of our dads were carring or kids, so we continued on with them.. but let me tell you.. I regret wearing flip flops. At the end of the hike, I sat down and had blisters on my toes.

At the end of this hike we were all sweating soo bad and were all soo tired. There was a large pool of freezing cold, run off water that we all basically jumped in when we got to it.

I love the pure joy on his face :) He seriously cried when I made him get out..

I wish I could fall asleep anywhere like my baby.. He fell asleep in my dad's arms on the hike down. You would think he was the one doin all the work!

Just a side note: My husband is so very busy with school, work and coaching that I hardly ever get to see him. He is coaching a 5th grade football team for volunteer hours and so he has been gone almost every night, and very busy from the time he wakes up with school work and work.. :(. So you won't see him in very many pictures..

But, with that being said, Carter and I have lots of spare time to have time together. My mom was driving down to Vegas to watch my brothers basketball tournament, so we jumped at the idea of getting away for a few days

Carter is getting older and isn't so fond of the facing backward seats.. I feel bad after hours of being in the car that he can't see out of the window like everyone else.. so the day before I left, I went and bought him a big boy car seat..

I think He liked it..

Upon getting there I realized just how much hotter Las Vegas is than beautiful Alpine.. It was around 110 degrees everyday we were there.

So we did a lot of this..

I feel like I've been to Vegas 1000 times.. but this time I went somwhere new.. Anyone watch Pawn Stars??

Don't you love it when random people just jump in your picture??

Can I just say.. everything in that pawn shop was SOOOOO expensive.. I didn't see anything for under $500 (excluding the t-shirts and mugs..)

The Trip doesn't end there.. but I'll post about that later :) Also.. don't mind the some of the HUGE pictures.. For some reason, Photobucket isn't resizing them like I want it too and I'm just frustrated with it so I just left them

I was thinking of all the things I could post about.. but in reality.. this is what Carter and I look like today and feel like. We just got back from an awesome week long trip.. but Lets be real.. Carter and I both need a shower, there is piles of laundry to be done, dinner to be cleaned up, a bed to be made, dishes to do.. the list could seriously go on and on. Thats why Carter and I are going to leave you with these lovely "real" pictures of us.

P.s... I was looking through pictures and doesn't Carter look so old in these pictures?? anyone think its not fair how fast they grow up??? I felt like I was pregnant FOREVER and now Carter is almost 10 months, the same amount of time I was pregnant... Not fair at all.

A Classic American Day

I love the holidays! I love the excitement, the decorations and all the festivities that go along with it! This year has been so fun for me because, although Carter is still young, everything is just so much more fun and exciting when you have a baby to dress up and share all the fun with!

We started off our day by dressing up in red, white and blue of course..

Yes.. I realize he is not smiling in any of these pictures.. or even looking at me for that matter. He was being a stinker and was determined to not smile or look like he was even slightly interested in taking pictures with me.. I gave in and stopped trying :)

Later that day, Carter and I went to the Freedom Festival in Provo with my family.

Finishing off the day was so nice too..

We normally go to Evanston to watch the fireworks with Andy's family, but this year was just a little too busy for us to make time to get up there, but we still had a great time watching them from our porch..

I love this picture of Carter.. He was so content sitting in his little car watching everyone with the sparklers and the commotion going on around. Plus this totally describes Carter.. He is so chill with his foot up, relaxing and just watching everyone :)

Did anyone notice Andy isn't in any of these pictures? He was studying.. yes, studying the ENTIRE day!! I'll post more later about our weekend and what put him soo behind on schoolwork! Summer school, work, and Carter keep us both pretty busy, so we missed him through our day.. but sure are proud of how hard he works!

We are getting excited and sooo close..
I just had my last baby shower on saturday and I just had to post a few of the cute things I got!

My mom got me this adorable swing!! I'm way excited about it and set it up right after the shower!

Who says boys can't have cute shoes too??? These are a few of my favorites!

A few days ago I was digging through my moms old fabric and came across some fabric that was my grandma's from a really long time ago and ended up making a few of these carseat canopys... They are sooo easy to make and I love that the fabric reminds me of my grandpa!

My mother in law brought this over to me the other day.. I thought it was soo cute

My mom got him this adorable leather jacket so he can match Andy and I!

Don't Laugh at Me....

So.. I am currently just over 37 weeks pregnant.. and I had a doctors appt a few days ago and my doctor let me know that I am already starting to dialate... Lovely huh.. so he let me know i should prepare my self.. One of those things I did to Prepare was go get a car seat!

and yes.. I am very excited about my new car seat.. so excited in fact I had to show off my cute stroller and car seat to all of you!!

My little sister is super excited about getting a nephew and wanted a picture with the stroller and carseat too! and I AM SUPER EXCITED to start going on walks to work off this lovely belly I've been growing!

A couple weeks ago my mom called me at like 11:00 at night and asked if Andy would come help her for a min...
both of us went up to see what she needed and she directed us to the bathroom where my dad was giving himself stitches...

Earlier that day.. My dad was outside changing a tire on a car and had opened the car door and the edge of the door caught his ear and rip it.. gross i know..

But Andy to the rescue! Andy rushed right in and my dad directed him on to properly stitch his ear and my mom and I were there to document it all...

And yes.. Andy was loving giving the stitches

So.. One day we woke up and decided.. Why not just go to Hawaii?? So ... We did!! We swapped some shifts at work and the next thing you know.. we were in Hawaii.. Maui to be exact!

A much needed getaway

SOOO.. Thursday night I got off work just after 5:30 pm and Andy gets an idea that we should try out our flight benefits and jump on a plane that night.... So I called up to see what flights were still going out that night.. and there was a few that we could take.. So 20 min later we were all packed up and on our way to the airport.. and we spent the next few days doing this...

We Stayed at the Luxor Hotel for a few nights and the Excalibur Hotel In Las Vegas and while we were there we went to the Bodies exhibit. It was crazy cool... Weird.. but cool!

We also did lots of shopping!!! At one of the malls, they had a place similar to color me mine, so we decided to stop in and make a souvenir from our fun little getaway!

Hanging out at the airport waiting for our flight back to Salt Lake... It got delayed due to bad weather in California! So we were stuck at the airport for a couple hours.. but it was all worth it because one.. we fly for free.. and two WE HAD SOOO MUCH FUN TOGETHER!!!!! We just got back and are already planning our next getaway!

Friday and Saturday night rolls around and we always end up going to a movie or going to redbox...

We have seen some movies recently that I loved!!

Becoming a Tradtion

I had just met Andy about 3 weeks before, and my dad thought it would be a good idea if i brought the most recent guy I was dating along on our family trip to see if he fit well with the family. Ha.. So my Dad invited Andy to come after I had only been on a few dates with him...

The trip was down to Vegas, and on one day my dad took a few of us out to see Hoover Dam..

So.. This is us in April of 2008 at Hoover Dam while we were dating....

Fast forward to April 2009.. Andy and I are Married

I LOVE holidays. No matter what holiday it is.. I decorate my house to match and get all excited about it! You can consider me 5 years old still if you want... Anyways.. I work at a computer all day long and there are times (like right now) that I am stuck on hold for who knows how long.. So I have plenty of time to surf the internet...

The Best Of the Best

I love my husband.. I really really do. Latley I have been working ALOT so I have been really tired and I have been on and off sick with a mutiple colds and just being plain sick. My husband is seriously the best. He has picked up on all my slack! Cleaning.. Dishes.. Laundry.. making the bed.. making dinner.. cleaning the cars.. He has done everything.. AND I have not heard him complain about it one time.

He is seriously the best husband a girl could ever ask for and I am the luckiest girl around.

Valentines 2010..

Saturday the 13th I had to work until midnight in Salt Lake, so when I arrived home around 1 am and came home to the house with all the lights off as usual, but when I opened the front door.. It was all lit with candles all over the room and rose petals all over the floor! He had also posted little notes all around the kitchen of reasons of why he loves me! Do I have the best husband or what??? you can see a picture below... it doesn't really do it justice, but it was adorable!

The Next morning.. Sunday.. we woke up and had some lovely heart shaped pancakes in honor of Valentines!

If you look closely, you can see the movie attached to the bottom of the balloon.. on top of the blanket! On sunday Andy set up the movie for us to watch and didn't complain once about having to watch a chick flick!

Lifetime Movie

Ok.. I just had to blog about this... As I was flipping through the channels tonight I happened upon a Lifetime movie called The Pregnancy Pact.

I remember when this happened and I'm seriously dying while watching this. It is sooo sad. For anyone that doesn't know about it, it happened in a small town in Massachusetts in 2008. A group of 15 year old high school girls made a pact to all get pregnant together and raise their kids together. So obviously the entire movie is based on real events...

It really makes me sad watching it because it is a real thing and watching these really young girls that had no idea what they were really doing. By making this "pact" they completely changed their lives and the boys. It is depressing to watch but so interesting to see how their choices affected EVERYONE around them. If you get a chance.. watch it because it is really interesting!

New Years Day Snowboarding

For Christmas my parents got all of my siblings a day pass to the Canyons in Park City, so we could all go snowboarding together!! The Camera battery didn't last long, but we got a couple pictures at the start of the day!My mom, brother and sister

This is my little Primary class. They are all 5 and 6 years old. On Sunday we dressed them up in the Nativity Scene and went into the relief society and sang Away in a Manger. It was soooooo cute!!

Andy and I were on the way to church and were going down the drive way and slide off! We got stuck and almost hit the trees. Climbing back up the driveway in heels was not the most fun thing!! Church ended up being canceled cause there was so much snow!!!

I was super excited to see that my friend Robyn had posted about our new awesome job and couldn't wait to post also! ha...

Robyn and I worked together at Sport Clips and we are both wayyyy excited to be back at a full service salon!

Right now our Salon is Located in Draper, but we will both be transferring into their brand new Salon they are opening in American Fork!! It will be right behind the Texas Roadhouse, in the meadows shopping center. (near wal-mart)!

Everyone will have to come visit us and get your hair done!!

Andy's sister lives in Washington and surprised everyone by coming to visit! We were excited that she came in town and we were so excited to see our niece and nephew! We rarely get to see them, so it was so fun to get to spend time with them.

My sister in law Cara and I went to wal-mart in Evanston, and found some great deals on little girls shoes!! all the shoes in this pictures were $1 and $2. We couldn't believe it! they were sooo cute, Cara ended up buying about 17 pairs!! It was a great find!

Andy has a friend from his mission visiting us for a week from Reunion Island... ya, I didn't know where that was either.. come to find out, it is a French Island off the coast of Africa.

Anyways.. while she is here we took her to Cornbelly's out by Thanksgiving Point. None of us had every been to a cornmaze, so we thought it would be fun!!

It rained a little, other than that, we had a great time!

started off our super fun trip in Yosemite National Park in California!We borrowed my aunts super hott car.. here is andy posing by it haha... it was natural gas and we were afraid of running out of gas, cause there were no natural gas stations anywhere around!

Part Two of our 4th of July Weekend!!

Boating was alot of fun, but we also had alot of fun out 4 wheeling and go karting!!

I was super excited because my family came up to Evanston to spend time with Andy and I and Andy's family in Evanston. So we brought up my families 4 wheelers and got out andy's go karts so we could show my family a good time!!

The Crater at the Homestead Resort... For the first part of the reunion we stayed at the Homestead resort in Midway... it was so fun. They have this Crater there that you can swim in, its about 90 degrees year round!! its pretty much a natural hotspring and its about 90 degree's year round.. it was so much fun!

Hard Core Bikers

After Loading up the bikes.. Andy, andys dad and a couple of his dads friends and myself took off for a couple days to a biker rally in Laughlin, Nevada. We traveled the famous route 66, went to Vegas, Hoover Dam, Oatman Arizona.. and just played. It was alot of fun so i posted some pictures for everyone to enjoy!!! There were so many pictures but these are just a couple!

hello blog world,

i'm trying to keep updating...

so what is going on in the life of andy and katie? Andy and i are both in school and working.. we have moved into a basement apartment in my parents house. Its quite nice and now that our kitchen is finished it is starting to become more of a home to us!!

I'm learning to cook for two instead of the masses.. andy is learning to share a bathroom and closet with a girl with lots of make-up, curling irons and high heels... I'm still working at sport clips part-time... Andy is playing on a inter-mural basket ball team at UVU with friends and my brothers and they are undefeated!!... its offically been over a month that we've been married... seriously time flies.

Anyways, thats a small update on us!! they'll be more to come, so keep watching!

My dad got into the excitment of Twilight coming out and went out and bought these life size cardboard stand ups of Bella and Edward and placed them in our kitchen! haha.. I have to be honest, they scare me everytime I walk into a room.. I keep thinking they are real people.

I haven't read the books and didn't have any interest in seeing twilight... but my mom came across tickets to see the movie on opening night at midnight.. so.. we went!!! It was fun for all of us to go.. here are some pictures of us there at the midnight showing

This is my boyfriend Andy and I... This picture was taken at temple square a couple of weeks ago! Andy and I have been dating about 2 and a half months now. Its a cute little story of how we met.. Andy and my older brother Dan were in the same Institute class at uvsc. Dan thought it would be a good idea to set us up, I hadn't have really any luck with blind dates and wasn't very excited about going out with him.. come to find out later on, he wasn't too excited about it either, but decided to give it a try...
either way.. we went out and our first date was a blind date and was also a double date.. It became a double date because our first phone call was really awkward. ha, well, we went out and apparently we hit it off because we have spent EVERY day together since that date!!!
